Unlike flash chromatography & prep HPLC, that are both forms of solid-liquid chromatography; countercurrent / centrifugal partition chromatography are forms of preparative liquid-liquid chromatography. As there is no solid chromatography phase, the CCC / CPC techniques make available to you massive cost savings, and remove the risk of expensive solid phase contamination or irreversible adsorption onto solid chromatographic phases.
Quattro CCC countercurrent / centrifugal partition chromatography is ideal for taking crude or complex, natural or synthetic matrices, from which it can directly obtain, by use of a CCC alone, high purity targets. On some occasions, researchers may need to use the CCC as a first stage pre-treatment, followed by prep HPLC to achieve high purity targets. In both cases, purification is achieved without the risk of compound denaturing / adsorption that can occur with SPE or flash chromatography systems.

These use as appropriate, isocratic or step generic gradient elution / extrusion to cut a narrow polarity fraction from a complex wide polarity, crude mixture, to purify in one or two steps.
